Ramadan: The Blessed Guest

Ramadan literally termed as the ninth month of calendar and the month of fasting for preaching and reaching Allah. When Ramadan comes, all the Islamic devotees get energized and excited to put up the lanterns and decorations all around to welcome the blessed month. We must welcome Ramadan with neat and tidy home, in neat dress and with prayers. Ramadan is the reminder of renewal of your mind and life to reach Allah. All Islamic devotees must fast from water, food and luxuries. The most important thing to remind in Ramadan is that devotees should fast by keeping the oath that this year I want to grow my character to be more like that of Prophet Muhammad and to cherish goodness to the society.

Parenting: Nurture your Child Emotionally, Spiritually and Physically

Parenting is a great time in one’s life. As far as parenting is concerned, it is a challenging and lovely responsibility. There are a number of different needs that a person has in his or her life. That needs may be physical, mental or spiritual. A parent should give the correct path to his child on how to fulfill these needs by the time. Good parenting is all about meeting all these needs of a child in a balanced and correct order. Many parents think that, by meeting the physical and material needs of their children, all their responsibilities are complete. No! You have to make them learn how to lead a life with spirituality and kindness. Normally, if a parent is very much busy with his job or something else, he tries to manage the needs of his child by gifting everything that is possible with money power. By doing this, you are spoiling your child’s great future. So, every parent should find some time to pay attention to his child and to love him or her with affection and care. Each child has emotional needs and spiritual needs. To meet these needs, there are different ways for parents. Parents can read about this particular subject by referring respective books or magazines. Parents can go for a class online or offline that covers the psychological scene of a child. Try to find some time to meet the intellectual needs of your children that their school cannot meet-such as visit historical places, visit some places of natural beauty, centers of worship, homes for the aged or the infirm, factories, museums, or a slum, a forest or an orphanage, a shrine or a park, a dance performance or a planetarium or a bakery, combining in this way entertainment as well as exposure to various situations and dimensions of lived reality. Parents should have to teach their children about God and his wisdom. Make them pray to God everyday at regular time with family members. Let them thank God for the good time they had in life. One cannot acquire good parenting skills by simply giving birth to a child. Its a regular practice to lead the child to a good future by giving him or her better guidance spiritually, physically and emotionally.

WHAT AWAITS US IN JANNAH

Are you amazed by the word “JANNAH’? Ok, let’s start with the word ‘Jannah’. What is Jannah?. Yes, we all know it’s heaven, but the word Jannah means “Garden”. We are all afraid of hell and we have been hearing about the torments in hell. Now if we just reverse our thoughts from hell to heaven what is there in heaven. In very simple words Allah SWT says “Whatever your soul wishes will be there in heaven”. Everything that you need will be rewarded to you in abundance and to your wish. There will be rivers of milk (the milk that doesn’t get spoiled), honey, fresh juices, water etc. that which will never stop, it will only get better. Allah SWT says Jannah has in it something far greater and bigger than each person’s singular paradise. SubhanAllah isn’t it amazing?. In Jannah it’s something that our eyes have never seen, all that we see in the earth doesn’t qualify in Jannah. Even the same husbands and wives will be far better in Jannah in a manner we wished them to be. Even our body which we think is perfect is not qualified to go to Jannah. Allah SWT makes everything perfect in order to be qualified to enter Jannah. Mufti Menk in this video says when you see heaven you will say I have never ever seen something like this and I have never ever heard of something like this and I have never ever dreamt of something like this and I never thought this is what it would be like. So why don’t we take up this opportunity. This is what Allah SWT has in store for the ones who live according to his will. Don’t you want to be one among them. May Allah SWT accept all our deeds and grand us Jannah. Mufti Menk in this video has excellently briefed about Jannah. Do listen to his words and honestly try to be one amongst them to enter Jannah.

Eid al-Fitr 2020

Praise be to Allah. Every year Muslims celebrate two major religious Holidays- Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Both celebrations commence after completing an obligational worship prescribed by Allah. Eid al-Fitr follows 30 days of fasting during Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha is celebrated after the Hajj. Fasting and Hajj are the third and fourth pillars of Islam. Eid al-Fitr will fall on May 23rd or 24th this year and many of us are unsure of what to do given the current pandemic situation causing a shutdown of all places of worship. Most of us are currently praying Jumah and Tarawih at home and will likely do the same or Eid prayers. Some of us are holding socially distanced, family visits outdoors, while others are doing drive-bys. Some families may continue with virtual visits through video calls.
