وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَرْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : غَزَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزْوَةَ الْفَتْحِ ، فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَاقْتَتَلُوا بِحُنَيْنٍ ، فَنَصَرَ اللَّهُ دِينَهُ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ ، وَأَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ مِائَةً مِنَ النَّعَمِ ، ثُمَّ مِائَةً ، ثُمَّ مِائَةً.قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَعْطَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أَعْطَانِي ، وَإِنَّهُ لأَبْغَضُ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ ، فَمَا بَرِحَ يُعْطِينِي حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لأَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ.
It was narrated that Ibn Shihab said: “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) set out on the campaign to conquer Makkah, then the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) set out with those of the Muslims who were with him, They fought at Hunain and Allah supported His religion and granted victory to the Muslims. On that day the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) gave Safwan bin Umaiyyah a hundred sheep, then another hundred, then another hundred.” Ibn Shihab said: “Sa’eed bin Al-Musayyab told me that Safwan said: ‘By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) gave me what he gave me, and he was the most hated of people to me, but he kept giving to me until he became the most beloved of people to me.”’
