Sahih Muslim Book - 2, Hadith - 534

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى أَنَّ زَيْدًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَّامٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الطُّهُورُ شَطْرُ الْإِيمَانِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَآَنِ أَوْ تَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالصَّلَاةُ نُورٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ بُرْهَانٌ وَالصَّبْرُ ضِيَاءٌ وَالْقُرْآنُ حُجَّةٌ لَكَ أَوْ عَلَيْكَ كُلُّ النَّاسِ يَغْدُو فَبَايِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا أَوْ مُوبِقُهَا.

It was narrated that Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Purification is half of faith, ''Al-Hamdu Lillah" fills the Balance and "Subhan-Allahi wal-hamdu Lillah" fill - or fills - the space between heaven and earth. As-Salat (prayer) is light, As-Sadaqa (charity) is proof, As-Sabr (patience) is illumination and the Qur'an is evidence for you or against you. All people go out in the morning and sell themselves, either freeing themselves or condemning themselves."
