حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : تَلاَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : {هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ ، فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ ، وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ ، وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّنَا ، وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلاَّ أُولُو الأَلْبَابِ} قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ، فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ سَمَّى اللَّهُ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ.
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) recited: 'It is He Who has sent down to you the Book (this Qur'an). In it are Verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book; and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah, and seeking for its hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings save Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord. And none receive admonition except men of understanding." The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'If you see those who follow that which is not entirely clear in it, those are the ones whom Allah mentioned, so beware of them."'
