It was narrated that Abu Ayyub said: "A man came to the Prophet (s.a.w) and said: 'Tell me of a deed that I can do which will bring me closer to Paradise and take me away from Hell.' He said: 'Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the Salat, pay the Zakat, and uphold the ties of kinship.' When he left, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'If he adheres to what is enjoined upon him, he will enter Paradise."' In the narration of Ibn Abi Shaibah it is: "If he adheres to it."
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."
Sunan Ibn Mājah
"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
Sahih Bukhari
