Sahih Muslim Book - 7, Hadith - 1965
وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ قَالَ ابْنُ رُمْحٍ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِى سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ أَنْصِتْ . يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ ».
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "If you say to your companion: 'Listen attentively' on a Friday, while the Imam is delivering the Khutbah, then you have engaged in idle speech."
