حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كُلْثُومٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي كُلْثُومٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ مَلَكًا مُوَكَّلاً بِالرَّحِمِ ، إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ شَيْئًا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ ، لِبِضْعٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ... ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِهِمْ.
It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Asid Al-Ghifari, the Companion of the Prophet (s.a.w) ' who attributed the Hadith to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w): "An angel is appointed over the womb, and when Allah wants to create anything by His leave, after forty-odd nights ... " then he mentioned a similar Hadith (as no. 6728).
