It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Asid that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "The angel enters upon the Nutfah (sperm drop) after it has settled in the womb for forty or forty-five nights, and he says: 'O Lord, miserable or happy?' And they are written down. Then he says: 'O Lord, male or female?' And they are written down. And he writes down his deeds, what he will leave behind, lifespan and provisions, then the scroll is rolled up, and nothing is added or taken away there from."'
