حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ : أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ : مِنَ الرِّجَالِ ؟ قَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : عُمَرُ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً.
'Amr bin AI-As narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) sent him at the head of the army of Dhat As-Salasil; "I came to him and said: 'Which of the people is dearest to you?' He said: ''Aishah.' I said: 'Who among men?' He said: 'Her father.' I said: 'Then who?' He said: ''Umar,' and he mentioned some other men."
