حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالاَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَدِمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : أَتُقَبِّلُونَ صِبْيَانَكُمْ ؟ فَقَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالُوا : لَكِنَّا وَاللَّهِ مَا نُقَبِّلُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَأَمْلِكُ إِنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ نَزَعَ مِنْكُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ. وقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ : مِنْ قَلْبِكَ الرَّحْمَةَ.
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “Some Bedouin people came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and said: ‘Do you kiss your children?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ They said: ‘By Allah, we do not kiss them.’ The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: ‘What can I do if Allah has deprived you of mercy?”’ Ibn Numair said: “Deprived your hearts of mercy.”
