وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : يُؤْذِينِي ابْنُ آدَمَ يَقُولُ : يَا خَيْبَةَ الدَّهْرِ فَلاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : يَا خَيْبَةَ الدَّهْرِ فَإِنِّي أَنَا الدَّهْرُ ، أُقَلِّبُ لَيْلَهُ وَنَهَارَهُ ، فَإِذَا شِئْتُ قَبَضْتُهُمَا.
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: ‘Allah Blessed and Exalted is He, said: ‘’The son of Adam offends me. He says: ‘May time be doomed.’ But none of you should say ‘may time be doomed.’ for I am time, I alternate night and day, and if I wished I could end them.”’
