It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said, concerning the saying of Allah the Most High: "... And offer your Salat (prayer) neither aloud nor in a low voice..." This was revealed when the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) was hiding in Makkah. When he led his Companions in prayer, he raised his voice when reciting Qur'an, but when the idolators heard it, they reviled the Qur'an, and the One Who had revealed it, and the one who had brought it. So Allah said to His Prophet (s.a.w): "... And offer your Salat (prayer) neither aloud..." lest the idolators hear your recitation, "... nor in a low voice...", lest your Companions be unable to hear it; let them hear the Qur'an, but do not recite so loudly, "... but follow a way between...", meaning, neither too loud nor too soft."
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."
Sunan Ibn Mājah
"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
Sahih Bukhari
