وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِزُهَيْرٍ ، قَالاَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ: اسْتَأْذَنَ رَهْطٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: بَلْ عَلَيْكُمُ السَّامُ وَاللَّعْنَةُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ فِي الأَمْرِ كُلِّهِ قَالَتْ: أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ مَا قَالُوا ؟ قَالَ: قَدْ قُلْتُ وَعَلَيْكُمْ.
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “A group of Jews asked permission of enter upon the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and they said: ‘As-Samu ‘alaikum (death be upon you).’ ‘Aishah said: ‘Rather may death be upon you, and curses.’ ‘The messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: ‘O ‘Aishah, Allah has enjoined kindness in all things.’ She said: Did you not hear what they said?’ he said: ‘I said: “And also upon you.”
