حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ ، وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : حَقُّ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ سِتٌّ قِيلَ : مَا هُنَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، ؟ قَالَ : إِذَا لَقِيتَهُ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا دَعَاكَ فَأَجِبْهُ ، وَإِذَا اسْتَنْصَحَكَ فَانْصَحْ لَهُ ، وَإِذَا عَطَسَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ فَسَمِّتْهُ ، وَإِذَا مَرِضَ فَعُدْهُ وَإِذَا مَاتَ فَاتَّبِعْهُ.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “The rights of one Muslim over another are six.” It was said: “What are they O messenger of Allah?” He said: “If you meet him, greet him with Salam; if he invites you, accept the invitation; If he ask for advice, give him sincere advice; If he sneezes and praises Allah, then reply to him [say Yarhamuk Allah (may Allah have mercy on you); if he falls sick, visit him; and if he dies, attend his funeral."
