حَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : بِمَ مَاتَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ؟ قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : بِالطَّاعُونِ ، قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ.
It was narrated that Hafsah hint Sirin said: "Anas bin Malik said to me: 'Of what did Yahya bin Abi 'Amrah die?' I said: 'Of the plague."' She said: He (i.e., Anas) said: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "The plague is martyrdom for every Muslim."
