It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "When the following Verse was revealed: "And warn your tribe of near kindred", the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) called the Quraish and they gathered. Then he spoke to them in general terms, addressing everybody. Then he addressed some specific individuals and clans, and said: 'O Banu Ka'b bin Lu'aiy, save yourselves from the Fire! O Banu Murrah bin Ka'b, save yourselves from the Fire! O Banu 'Abd Shams, save yourselves from the Fire! O Banu 'Abd Manaf, save yourselves from the Fire! O Banu Hashim, save yourselves from the Fire! O Banu 'Abdul-Muttalib, save yourselves from the Fire! O Fatimah, save yourself from the Fire! I cannot do anything for you before Allah, but you have ties of kinship which I wish to uphold."'
