إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
Innaka in ta th arhum yu d illoo AAib a daka wal a yalidoo ill a f a jiran kaff a r a n
for, behold, if Thou dost leave them, they will [always try to] lead astray those who worship Thee, and will give birth to nothing but wickedness and stubborn ingratitude.17
  - Mohammad Asad

Lit., "to such as are wicked (fajir), stubbornly ingrate (kaffar)": but since no one - and particularly not a prophet - is ever justified in assuming that the progeny of evildoers must of necessity be evil, it is obvious that the terms fajir and kaffar are used here metonymically, denoting qualities or attitudes, and not persons.

For if You spare any of them, they will mislead your servants and beget none but wicked unbelievers.
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
For if You spare 'any of' them, they will certainly mislead Your servants, and give birth only to 'wicked' sinners, staunch disbelievers.
  - Mustafa Khattab
If Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thy slaves and will beget none save lewd ingrates.
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
"For if Thou dost leave (any of) them they will but mislead thy devotees and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali
