When Maryam's son Isa (Jesus) is quoted as an example, yourpeople raise a clamor at it,
and say: "Are Our gods better or is he?" They cite this to youmerely to provoke you. They are but a quarrelsome people.
He (Jesus) was no more than a mortal whom We favored and made anexample to the children of Israel.
The unbelievers say: "You are no Rasool." Say: "Allah isall-sufficient witness between me and you, and so are those whohave knowledge of the Book."
They say: "O you to whom the reminder (The Qur'an) is beingrevealed! You are surely insane.
Why don't you bring us the angels, if you are of the truthfulones?"
O Muhammad, tell them: "We do not send down the angels except forjust cause (to execute Our scourge), and when they come, peopleare not given respite.
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men (he is not going toleave any male heirs). He is the Rasool of Allah and the Seal ofthe Prophets. Allah has the knowledge of all things.
O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, daughters and the believing womenthat they should draw their outer garments over their persons. That is more proper, so that they may be recognized and notbothered. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Such were the people to whom We gave the Book, wisdom andProphethood. Now if these people deny this guidance, it does notmatter; We would bestow this guidance upon other people who wouldnot disbelieve.
Indeed Allah exalted Adam, Nuh (Noah), the family of Ibrahim(Abraham) and the family of Imran above all the worlds.
We sent Nuh (Noah) and Ibrahim (Abraham), and bestowed amongtheir descendants Prophethood and the Book. Some of them adoptedthe right guidance, but most of them were transgressors.
Allah took the covenant with the Prophets, saying: "Now that youhave been given the Book and Wisdom; there will come to you aRasool who will confirm that which is with you; you will have tobelieve in him and help him in his mission." Then He said "Do youaffirm this covenant and agree to take this heavyresponsibility?" The Prophets replied, "Yes, we do affirm." Allahsaid, "Very well, bear witness to this and I too bear witnesswith you."
O Muhammad, remember the Covenant which We took from all theProphets - from you as well as from Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and Isa(Jesus) son of Maryam - We took that solemn Covenant from all ofthem,
It is not conceivable that any Prophet would hold back from thespoils of war; for anyone who holds back shall bring alongwhatever he has been withholding on the Day of Resurrection; thenevery soul shall be paid back in full what it has earned and theyshall not be dealt with unjustly.
They also claim: "Allah has commanded us to believe in no Rasoolunless he shows us a sacrifice consumed by a fire from theHeaven." Ask them: "Other prophets before me have come to youwith clear arguments and showed this miracle you are asking for.Why did you kill them if what you say is true?"
O Muhammad if they reject you by calling you an impostor, so didthey reject other Rasools before you, although they brought themclear signs, Psalms, and the enlightening Book.
Those who have gone before them also denied - these Arabs havenot received one tenth of what We had granted them - yet whenthey denied My Rasools, see how terrible was My scourge.
It has been the case that whenever a Rasool came to the peoplesbefore them, they said about him: "He is a sorcerer or a madman."
Those who deny Allah and his Rasool and those who intend to drawa line between Allah and His Rasools saying: "We believe in some, and reject the rest" - desiring to take a middle way betweenbelief and unbelief
How when the disciples asked: "O Isa son of Maryam! Can your Rabbsend down to us from heaven a table spread with food?" And yousaid: "Have fear of Allah if you are true believers."
O Muhammad many Rasools before you were also ridiculed, but inthe long run those who ridiculed were hemmed in by the very thingthey were ridiculing.
Rasools have been mocked before you (O Muhammad), but I alwaysgave respite to the unbelievers and finally I seized them, so seehow terrible was My requital!
but whenever a Rasool came to them, they mocked him.
As for their scoffing, the Rasools before you were also scoffedat; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the very thing at whichthey used to scoff.
Like this Rasool, We had granted each Rasool his opponents -shaitans from among the human beings and Jinns - some of theminspire the others with seductive discourses of deception. Ifyour Rabb wanted, they would not have done so. Therefore, neglectthem as well as what they invent,
That is how We made for every Rasool an enemy among thecriminals, but your Rabb is sufficient for you (O Muhammad) as aGuide and Helper.
This testimony will be taken in order to prove, that your Rabbwould not destroy towns without just cause while their residentswere ignorant of the Reality.
We have not sent any Rasool except that he speaks the language ofhis own people, so that he could explain to them clearly. ThenAllah leaves in error whom He will and guides whom He pleases: Heis the Mighty, the Wise.
Every nation was sent a Rasool. Once their Rasool came, judgementwas passed between them with all fairness and they were notwronged in the least.
No doubt We raised in every nation a Rasool, saying: "Serve Allahand keep away from Taghut (Satanic forces)." After that, Allahguided some of them while deviation proved true against theothers. So travel through the earth and see what was the end ofthose who denied Our Message.
Their Rasools responded: "Are you doubting the existence ofAllah, Who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth? He is theOne Who invites you so that He may forgive your sins and give yourespite till your appointed term." They said: "You are nothingbut a human like us! You only wish to turn us away from theworship of those deities whom our forefathers used to worship.Bring us some clear sign."
The Rasools We sent before you, O Muhammad, and to whom Werevealed Our Message, were also human beings. You (O people ofMakkah), may ask those who have the Reminder (The people of theBook), if you don't know this fact yourself.
Nothing prevented people from belief when guidance came to themexcept the excuse: "What! Has Allah sent a man like us to be aRasool?"
The Rasools which We sent before you, O Muhammad, were also humanto whom We sent revelation. If you, O objectors, do not knowthis, then ask the people of the reminder (Jews and Christians).
And they say: "What sort of Rasool is he who eats food and walksthrough the streets? Why has no angel been sent down with him tothreaten the disbelievers?
We have sent no Rasool before you, who did not eat or walkthrough the streets. In fact, We test you by means of oneanother. Now, will you show patience, for your Rabb is EverObservant.
Finally the unbelievers said to their Rasools: "Return to ourreligion or we will expel you from our land." But their Rabbrevealed His will to them: "We shall destroy the wrongdoers
O Prophet, We have sent many Rasools before you; of them thereare some whose stories We have relayed to you and others whosestories We have not relayed to you. It was not possible for anyof those Rasools to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah. Then when the command of Allah came, the matter was decided withjustice, and it was the wrongdoers who suffered the loss.
The Rasools We sent before you, O Muhammad, and to whom Werevealed Our Message, were also human beings. You (O people ofMakkah), may ask those who have the Reminder (The people of theBook), if you don't know this fact yourself.
We sent those Rasools with clear signs and scriptures; and now Wehave sent down the reminder to you (O Muhammad), so that you mayexplain clearly to mankind as to what was sent to them so thatthey may think about it.
Righteousness is not whether you turn your face towards East orWest; but the righteousness is to believe in Allah, the Last Day,the Angels, the Books and the Prophets, and to spend wealth outof love for Him on relatives, orphans, helpless, needytravellers, those who ask for and on the redemption of captives;and to establish Salah (prayers), to pay Zakah (alms), to fulfillpromises when made, to be steadfast in distress, in adversity, and at the time of war. These people are the truthful and theseare the pious.
The Rasool has believed in the Guidance which has been revealedto him from his Rabb and so do the Believers. They all believe inAllah, His angels, His books and His Rasools. They say we do notdiscriminate against anyone of His Rasools. And they say: "Wehear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, O Rabb; to You weshall all return."
As for those who believe in Allah and His Rasools and do notdiscriminate between any of them, We shall soon give them theirdue rewards. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
O People of the Book! Do not transgress the limits of yourreligion. Speak nothing but the Truth about Allah. The Messiah,Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary) was no more than a Rasool ofAllah and His Word "Be" which He bestowed on Maryam and a Spiritfrom Him which took the shape of a child in her womb. So believein Allah and His Rasools and do not say: "Trinity"." Stop sayingthat, it is better for you. Allah is only One Deity. He is farabove from the need of having a son! To Him belongs all that isin the heavens and in the Earth. Allah Alone is sufficient forprotection.
We are quite aware what they really wish to hear when they listento you, and what they say when they converse in private. Thesewrongdoers say to one another: "The man you follow is surelybewitched"
See what sort of examples they make up about you! They havesurely gone astray and cannot find the Right Way.
To Musa (Moses) We gave the Book (Torah) and sent after him otherRasools in succession; then We gave Isa (Jesus), the son ofMaryam (Mary), clear Signs and strengthened him with the HolySpirit (Gabriel). Why is it that whenever there came to you aRasool with a message which did not suit your desires, you becameso arrogant that some you called impostors and others you killed!
O believers! Believe in Allah, His Rasool, the Book which He hasrevealed to His Rasool, and every Book which He previouslyrevealed. He who denies Allah, His angels, His Books, His Rasoolsand the Last Day has gone far astray.
Those who deny Allah and his Rasool and those who intend to drawa line between Allah and His Rasools saying: "We believe in some, and reject the rest" - desiring to take a middle way betweenbelief and unbelief
- these are the real unbelievers and We have prepared for suchunbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Say: "We believe in Allah and that which is revealed to us; andwhat was revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq(Isaac), Ya'qoob (Jacob) and their descendants, and that whichwas given to Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and other Prophets fromtheir Rabb. We do not discriminate any of them, and to Allah wehave surrendered ourselves (in Islam)."
O Prophet, say: "We believe in Allah and what is revealed to usand what was revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma`il (Ishmael),Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qoob (Jacob) and their descendants; and in thatwhich was given to Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and other Prophetsfrom their Rabb; we do not discriminate any one of them, and toAllah do we submit in Islam."
Those who deny Allah and his Rasool and those who intend to drawa line between Allah and His Rasools saying: "We believe in some, and reject the rest" - desiring to take a middle way betweenbelief and unbelief
As for those who believe in Allah and His Rasools and do notdiscriminate between any of them, We shall soon give them theirdue rewards. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Who can be more wicked than the one who invents a lie againstAllah, or says: "This was revealed to me," while nothing wasrevealed to him? Or the one who says: "I can reveal the like ofwhat Allah has revealed?" If you could only see these wrongdoerswhen they are in the agonies of death and the angels stretchforth their hands saying, "Take out your soul! Today you will berewarded with a disgraceful punishment for saying falsehoodagainst Allah which you had no right to say and showing arroganceagainst His revelations!"
Allah adds to what the angels said, "So you have come back to UsAlone as We created you at the first time, leaving behind allthat which We gave you in that world and We don't see with youyour intercessors, whom you claimed to be Allah's partners inyour affairs; all your ties have been cut off and what youpresumed has failed you."
Every nation was sent a Rasool. Once their Rasool came, judgementwas passed between them with all fairness and they were notwronged in the least.
O Muhammad, those were the people who were rightly guided byAllah, therefore, follow their guidance and tell these people: "Iam not asking you any compensation for this work of deliveringthe Message to you, this message is nothing but a reminder to allthe worlds."
Ridiculous is the price for which they have sold away theirsouls, that they deny Allah's revelation merely because of theirgrudge, that Allah should send His grace (on an Israelite ratherthan ) on whom He pleases from His servants (Muhammad)! They havedrawn on themselves wrath upon wrath, and for such disbelieversthere is a disgraceful punishment.
He would never ask you to take angels and prophets as your lords.Would he ask you to become kafir (unbelievers) after you havebecome Muslims (believers)?
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men (he is not going toleave any male heirs). He is the Rasool of Allah and the Seal ofthe Prophets. Allah has the knowledge of all things.
Likewise, the people of Nuh (Noah) We drowned when they rejectedthe Rasools and made them an example for mankind; and We haveprepared a painful punishment for such wrongdoers.
Let them also not forget that, on that Day, He will call them andask: "How did you answer Our Rasools?"
They will be so confused on that Day that they will not even askone another.
Before them the people of Nuh denied the Message and so did othergroups after them. Every nation plotted against its Prophet, seized him and sought to refute the truth through falsearguments; but I smote them, and how terrible was My retribution!
Thus shall the Word of your Rabb be proved true against thedisbelievers; they are the inmates of hellfire.
Alas for My bondsmen! Whenever there came to them a Rasool theymocked at him.
O Rasools! Eat of pure things and do good deeds, certainly I haveknowledge of all your actions.
Ask those of Our Rasools whom We sent before you if We everappointed other gods to be worshipped besides the CompassionateAllah?
To Musa (Moses) We gave the Book (Torah) and sent after him otherRasools in succession; then We gave Isa (Jesus), the son ofMaryam (Mary), clear Signs and strengthened him with the HolySpirit (Gabriel). Why is it that whenever there came to you aRasool with a message which did not suit your desires, you becameso arrogant that some you called impostors and others you killed!
Warn those who deny Allah's revelations, slay the Prophetswithout any justification, and kill those from among the peoplewho enjoin justice about the news of a painful punishment.
They are the ones whose deeds will become void in this world andin the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.
Allah has heard the statement of those who said: " Allah is poorand we are rich!" Their words are recorded and so is their unjustkillings of the Prophets." On the Day of Judgement, We shall say:"Taste now the torment of burning!
When they are asked to believe in what Allah has revealed, theyreply: "we only believe in what Allah has sent to us (Torah), andwe reject what is beside that," while it is the truth confirmingtheir own scriptures! Ask them, "if you sincerely believe in whatwas sent to you , why did you kill the Prophets of Allah who weresent to you from amongst yourselves before?"
Disgrace will be branded on them wherever they are found exceptwhen they get refuge under the favor of Allah or the patronage ofother people; they have incurred the wrath of Allah and have beenbranded with misery because they disbelieved Allah's revelationsand slew His prophets unjustly and because they disobeyed andtransgressed the limits.
All these stories of the prior Rasools that We relate to you (OMuhammad) are to strengthen your heart therewith; through theseyou have received the knowledge of reality and the believers havegotten admonition and a reminder.
Rush towards the forgiveness from your Rabb to a Paradise as vastas the Heavens and the earth which is prepared for the righteouspeople;
they are those who spend generously in the way of Allah, whetherthey are in prosperity or in adversity, who control their angerand forgive other people for Allah loves such charitable people,
And let those who do not find means to marry keep themselveschaste until Allah enriches them out of His bounty. As for thoseof your slaves who wish to buy out their liberty, execute thedeed of liberty with them if you find them deserving, and givethem some of the wealth which Allah has given you. Do not forceyour slave-girls into prostitution for your own worldly gains, ifthey wish to preserve their chastity; and if anyone forces theminto it, then surely after such a compulsion Allah will beforgiving and merciful to them.
Among His signs are the night and the day and the sun and moon.Do not prostrate yourselves before the sun or the moon; ratherprostrate yourselves before Allah, Who created them both, if youtruly are His worshippers.
So if the unbelievers disdain His worship, let them remember thatthe angels who are nearest to your Rabb, glorify Him day andnight and never feel tired.
Can he who is obedient, pass the hours of night prostrating inworship or standing in adoration, fearing the hereafter and hopeto earn the Mercy of his Rabb, be compared to the man who doesnot? Are the knowledgeable and the ignorant equal? In fact, nonewill take heed except the people of understanding.
And glorify Him during a part of the night and after theprostration (prayers).
Yet they are not all alike: there are some among the People ofthe Book who are upright, who recite the revelations of Allah allnight long and then prostrate before Him;
Can he who is obedient, pass the hours of night prostrating inworship or standing in adoration, fearing the hereafter and hopeto earn the Mercy of his Rabb, be compared to the man who doesnot? Are the knowledgeable and the ignorant equal? In fact, nonewill take heed except the people of understanding.
prostrate before Him at night and glorify Him during the longhours of night.
and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate?
This is because Allah is the Protector of the believers while theunbelievers have no protector.
for they can in no way protect you against Allah. In fact, thewrongdoers are protectors of one another, while the protector ofthe righteous is Allah Himself.
O Prophet! Give them this parable. Once there were two men. To one of them We had given two gardens of grapevines surrounded with palm-trees and put between them land for cultivation.
Both of those gardens yielded abundant produce and did not fail to yield its best. We had even caused a river to flow between the two gardens.
He had abundant produce, he said to his companion while conversing with him: "I am richer than you and my clan is mightier than yours."
When, having thus wronged his soul, he entered his garden and said: "I do not think that this garden will ever perish!
Nor do I believe that the Hour of Judgment will ever come. Even if I am returned to my Rabb, I will surely find even a better place than this."
His companion replied while still conversing with him: "Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you from dust, from a drop of semen, and fashioned you into a perfect man?
As for myself, Allah is the One Who is my Rabb and I do not associate anyone with Him.
When you entered your garden why did you not say: `It is as Allah pleased, no one has power except Allah!' Though you see me poorer than yourself in wealth and children,
yet my Rabb may give me a garden better than yours, and may send down thunderbolts from sky upon your garden, turning it into a barren wasteland.
Or its' water may dry out and you may never be able to find it."
It so happened that all his fruit produce was destroyed and the vines tumbled down upon their trellises, so he wrung his hands with grief for all that he had spent on it. He cried: "I wish I had not associated anyone with my Rabb!"
He was so helpless that he could neither find anyone to help him beside Allah, nor could he himself avert that catastrophe
it was then that he realized that the real protection comes only from Allah. His is the best reward and His is the best requital.
Neither can you frustrate Him in the earth or in the Heaven; norhave you any protector or helper besides Allah."
It is Allah Who has created the heavens, the earth and all thatis between them in six periods, then firmly established Himselfon the Throne of Authority. You have no guardian or intercessorbesides Him. Will you not then take heed?
Have they set up other guardians beside Him, while Allah Alone isthe Guardian? It is He Who gives life to the dead and it is HeWho has power over all things.
You cannot frustrate anything in earth and there is no protectoror helper for you besides Allah.
If they give no heed, then you should know that Allah is yourprotector. He is the best to protect and the best to help.
Those who take others as their guardians besides Him, AllahHimself is watching them; and O Prophet, you are not the disposerof their affairs.
Have they set up other guardians beside Him, while Allah Alone isthe Guardian? It is He Who gives life to the dead and it is HeWho has power over all things.
Beyond them there lies hell, and nothing of what they have earnedin this world will be of any benefit to them, nor those whom theyhave taken as their protectors besides Allah, and they shall havegrievous punishment.
Say: "Should I take as my protector anyone other than Allah, whois the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Who feeds all and isfed by none?" Say: "Nay! I am commanded to be the first of thosewho submit to Allah in Islam and not of those who commit shirk."
But there are others who say: "Our Rabb! Give us the good life, both in this world and in the Hereafter and save us from thetorment of the fire."
Such people shall have their due share in both worlds accordingto what they have earned, Allah is swift in settling theaccounts.
The righteous people are those who pray: "Our Rabb! We sincerelybelieve in You: please forgive our sins and save us from theagony of the Hellfire;"
Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying ontheir sides, and meditate on the creation of the heavens and theearth. Then cry out:" Our Rabb! You have not created this invain. Glory to You! Save us from the punishment of Fire.
Our Rabb! Those to whom You will cast into the Fire will be ineternal shame: and there shall be no helper for such wrongdoers.
The true believers, both men and women, are protectors of oneanother. They enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil; theyestablish Salah, pay Zakah, and obey Allah and His Rasool. It isthey on whom Allah will have His mercy; surely Allah is Mighty,Wise.
The unbelievers are protectors of one of another. If you fail todo likewise, there will be disorder in the land and greatcorruption.
Allah does not burden any human being with more than he can bear.Everyone will enjoy the credit of his deeds and suffer the debitsof his evil-doings.The believers say: "Our Rabb! Do notpunish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Rabb! Do not placeon us a burden as You placed on those before us. Our Rabb! Laynot on us the kind of burden that we have no strength to bear.Pardon us, Forgive us, Have mercy on us. You are our Protector, help us against the unbelievers."
Surely We have revealed this reminder (The Qur'an); and We willsurely preserve it Ourself.
When We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourself before Adam," all prostrated themselves except Iblees (Shaitan), who was one of the Jinns and chose to disobey the command of his Rabb. Would you then take him and his children as your protectors rather than Me, even though they are your enemies? What a bad substitute the wrongdoers have chosen!
Our Rabb! Grant us what You have promised through Your Rasoolsand save us from the shame on the Day of Resurrection; for Younever break Your promise."
Do the unbelievers think that they can take my servants as protectors, to save themselves from Hell, instead of Me? Certainly We have prepared Hell for the entertainment of such unbelievers.
Say: "O people, follow what has been brought down to you fromyour Rabb and do not follow other patrons besides Him." Yetlittle do they take admonition.
The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is thatof a spider who builds for itself a dwelling, and surely theweakest of all dwellings is the dwelling of a spider, if they butknew it.
Surely Allah knows whoever they invoke besides Him; He is theAll-Mighty, the Wise.
To one group He has guided while the other group deserved to beleft in error due to their own choice; for they took the shaitansfor their protectors instead of Allah yet they think that theyare guided.
This is because Allah is the Protector of the believers while theunbelievers have no protector.
O believers! Do not take your fathers and your brothers as yourfriends if they prefer Kufr (unbelief) over Iman (belief); forthose who turn away from this commandment shall be consideredwrongdoers.
O believers! Fear Allah and let every soul see what it is sendingfor the morrow (Hereafter). Fear Allah, surely Allah is aware ofall your actions.
Those men who accuse their own wives but have no witness exceptthemselves, each one of them shall be made to swear four times byAllah that his charge is true,
and the fifth time calling down upon himself the curse of Allahif he is lying.
As for the wife, the punishment shall be averted from her if sheswears four times by Allah that his (her husband's) charge isfalse
and the fifth time calls down the wrath of Allah on herself ifhis charge is true.
Do they not see that it is Allah Who gives abundantly to whom Hepleases and sparingly to whom He wills? Surely there are signs inthis example for those who believe.
Do they not know that Allah enlarges the provision for whom Hepleases and restricts it from whom He wills? Surely there aresigns in this for those who believe.
Let man reflect on the food he eats,
How We pour down rainwater in abundance
and cleave the soil asunder.
How We bring forth grain,
grapes and nutritious vegetation;
olives and dates,
lush gardens,
fruits and fodder,
as a means of sustenance for you and your cattle.
Hajj is in the well known months. He who undertakes to perform itmust abstain from husband-wife relationship, obscene language, and wrangling during Hajj. Whatever good you do, Allah knows it.Take necessary provisions with you for the journey, and piety isthe best provision of all. Fear Me, O people endowed withunderstanding.
Whenever they hear news of peace or of danger, they spread itquickly; but if they would report it to the Rasool and to theresponsible people in the community, it would come to theknowledge of those who could draw the right conclusions. If ithad not been for Allah's grace and mercy, all of you with theexception of a few, would have followed Shaitan.

Allah does not like evil words to be uttered except by someonewho is truly wronged. Allah hears all and knows all.
If you do good deeds openly or in private or forgive an evil, then surely Allah is Pardoning, Powerful.
