وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَـٰرُونُ مِن قَبْلُ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى وَأَطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرِى Qur’an Ta-Ha (20:90)

Walaqad q a la lahum h a roonu min qablu y a qawmi innam a futintum bihi wainna rabbakumu a l rra h m a nu fa i ttabiAAoonee waa t eeAAoo amree

And, indeed, even before [the return of Moses] had Aaron said unto them: "O my people! You are but being tempted to evil by this [idol] - for, behold, your [only] Sustainer is the Most Gracious! Follow me, then, and obey my bidding!"⁷⁷

Haroon had already told them: "O my people! This is but a test for you; for verily your Rabb is the Rahman (Allah): so follow me and do as I command you."
