Pronouncement of revocable divorce is only allowed twice: thenshe should be allowed to stay with honor or let go with kindnessafter the third pronouncement. It is not lawful for husbands totake anything back which they have given them except when bothparties fear that they may not be able to follow the limits setby Allah; then if you fear that they both will not be able tokeep the limits of Allah, there is no blame if, by mutualagreement the wife compensates the husband to obtain divorce. These are the limits set by Allah; do not transgress them, andthose who transgress the limits of Allah are the wrongdoers.
At the time of marriage, give the women their dowries willinglyas an obligation; but if they, by their own free will, give up toyou a portion of it then you may enjoy it with pleasure.
O believers! It is not lawful for you consider women as a part ofyour inheritance and retain them against their will in order thatyou may force them to give up a part of the dowry you have giventhem, unless they are guilty of proven fornication. Treat themwith kindness even if you dislike them; it is quite possible thatyou dislike something in which Allah has placed much good.
If any of you cannot afford to marry a free believing woman, lethim marry one of his own slave girls who is a believer; Allahknows how good you are in your faith. You all belong to one andthe same community. Marry them with the permission of theirfamily and give them their fair dowry so that they may live adecent life in wedlock and not live as prostitutes or look forsecret illicit relationships. Then if after marriage they commitadultery, they shall be given half the punishment prescribed fora free adulteress. The concession of such a marriage is for thoseof you who fear that they might commit a sin if they do not getmarried, but it is better for you to practice self-restraint.Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

If you wish to marry another wife in place of the one you alreadyhave, do not take back anything of what you have given her evenif it be a heap of gold. Would you take it back through slanderand open sin (accusing her unjustly)?
And how could you take it back when you have enjoyed conjugalhappiness and she had taken from you a firm pledge of marriage?

There is no blame on you if you divorce women before the marriageis consummated or the dowry is settled. Pay them somethinganyhow, the rich man according to his means and poor according tohis, a reasonable amount in all fairness. This is an obligationon the righteous people.
And if you divorce them before the marriage is consummated butafter the fixation of a dowry, give them half of their dowryunless the woman wants to waive it or the man in whose hand isthe marriage tie is generous enough (to pay the dowry in full). It is more appropriate that the man should act generously. Do notforget to show kindness to each other. Surely Allah observes youractions.

O believers! When the believing women seek refuge with you, testthem. Allah best knows their faith. If you find them truebelievers, do not send them back to the unbelievers. They are notlawful to the unbelievers, nor are the unbelievers lawful tothem. Return to their unbelieving husbands what they have spenton them. There is no blame on you if you marry such women, provided you give them their dowers. Do not hold on to yourmarriages with unbelieving women. Demand what you have spent onthem and let the unbelievers do the same. This is the order ofAllah which He has decreed between you. Allah is All-Knowing,All-Wise.
If you do not get back the demanded amount that you have spent onyour disbelieving wives from the unbelievers, and your turncomes, to pay the demanded amount of Muslim wives to theunbelievers, you can offset the amount and pay those whose wiveshave fled the equivalent of the amount they have spent on theirdisbelieving wives. Fear Allah, in Whom you believe.

Also forbidden for you are married women, except those who havefallen in your hands as prisoners of war. This is the order ofAllah relating to marriage prohibitions. All women other thanthese are lawful provided you seek them in marriage with giftsfrom your property (dowry), desiring chastity and not lust. Givethem their dowry as an obligation for the benefit you havereceived from your marriage relationship. However, there is noblame on you if you change the agreement of dowry with mutualconsent. Allah is the Knowledgeable, Wise.
O Prophet! We have made lawful to you the wives to whom you havegiven their dowers; and those ladies whom your right handspossess (from the prisoners of war) whom Allah has assigned toyou; and the daughters of your paternal uncles and aunts, and thedaughters of your maternal uncles and aunts, who have migratedwith you; and the believing woman who gave herself to the Prophetif the Prophet desires to marry her - this permission is only foryou and not for the other believers; We know what restrictions Wehave imposed on the other believers concerning their wives andthose whom their right hands possess. We have granted you thisprivilege as an exception so that no blame may be attached toyou. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Likewise enjoin the believing women to lower their gaze and guardtheir modesty; not to display their beauty and ornaments exceptwhat normally appears thereof; let them draw their veils overtheir bosoms and not display their charms except to theirhusbands, their fathers, their fathers-in-law, their own sons, their stepsons, their own brothers, their nephews on eitherbrothers' or sisters' sides, their own womenfolk, their ownslaves, male attendants who lack sexual desires or small childrenwho have no carnal knowledge of women. Also enjoin them not tostrike their feet in order to draw attention to their hiddentrinkets. And O believers! Turn to Allah in repentance, all ofyou, about your past mistakes, so that you may attain salvation.

It is made lawful for you to approach your wives during the nightof the fast; they are an apparel for you and you for them. Allahknows that you were committing dishonesty to your souls. So Hehas relented towards you and pardoned you. Now, you may approachyour wives and seek what Allah has written for you. Eat and drinkuntil the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from theblack thread of night, then complete your fast till nightfall. Donot approach your wives during I'htikaf (retreat in the mosquesin last ten days of Ramadhan). These are the limits set by Allah:do not ever violate them. Thus Allah makes His revelations clearto mankind so that they may guard themselves against evil.
If it be Our Will, We could turn it salty. Why then do you notgive thanks?
This is The Book in which there is no doubt. (Since its Author,Allah, the Creator of this universe, possesses completeknowledge, there is no room for doubt about its contents.) It isa guide for those who are God conscious,
who believe in the Unseen, who establish Salah (five regulardaily prayers) and spend in charity out of what We have providedfor their sustenance;
who believe in this Revelation (The Qur'an) which is sent to you(O Muhammad) and the Revelations which were sent before you(Torah, Psalms, Gospel...) and firmly believe in the Hereafter.
They are on True Guidance from their Rabb and they are the oneswho will attain salvation.
In fact, as for those who reject Faith; it is the same, whetheryou warn them or you don't, they will not believe.
Allah has sealed their hearts and their hearing, their eyes arecovered, and there is a grievous punishment for them.
There are some people who say: "We believe in Allah and the LastDay" yet they are not true believers.
They try to deceive Allah and the believers. However, theydeceive none except themselves yet they do not realize it.
There is a disease of deception in their heart; and Allah letstheir disease increase, and they shall have painful punishmentfor the lies they have told.
When it is said to them: "Do not make mischief on earth," theysay: "We make peace."
Be aware! They are the ones who make mischief but they do notrealize it.
When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe" theysarcastically ask: "Should we believe like fools?" Be aware! Theythemselves are the fools, if only they could understand.
When they meet the believers they say: "We are believers," butwhen they are alone with their shaitans, they say: "We are reallywith you, we were only mocking the believers."
Allah will throw back their mockery on them and leave them alonein their trespasses; so they wander to and fro like blind.
These are the people who barter guidance for error: but theirbargain is profitless and they are not going to be guided.
Their example is that of a man who kindled a fire; when itilluminated all around him Allah took away the light (theireyesight) and left them in utter darkness: they could seenothing.
Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will never return to the Right Way.
Or another example is that of a dark storm-cloud in the skycharged with thunder and lightning. They press their fingers intotheir ears at the sound of each stunning thunderclap for fear ofdeath: Allah is encircling the unbelievers from all sides.
O believers! Intoxicants and gambling (games of chance),dedication to stones (paying tribute to idols) and division byarrows (lottery) are the filthy works of Shaitan. Get away fromthem, so that you may prosper.
Shaitan desires to stir up enmity and hatred between you withintoxicants and gambling and to prevent you from the remembranceof Allah and from Salah (prayers). Will you not abstain?
Kill them wherever they confront you in combat and drive them outof the places from which they have driven you. Though killing isbad, creating mischief is worse than killing. Do not fight themwithin the precincts of the Sacred Mosque unless they attack youthere; but if they attack you put them to the sword; that is thepunishment for such unbelievers.
So We opened the gates of heaven with pouring rain
and caused the earth to burst with gushing springs, and thewaters met to fulfill the decreed end.
We carried him in an Ark built with planks and nails,
which drifted on under Our care: a reward for him (Noah) who wasdenied by the unbelievers.
We have left that Ark as a sign, so is there any who would takeadmonition?
How terrible was My scourge and how clear My warning!
So We granted his prayer, delivered him and those with him in theladen ark,
and drowned the rest in the flood.
Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of thesepeople do not learn a lesson and become believers.
How terrible was My scourge and how clear My warning!
O mankind! Have fear of your Rabb, the One who created you from asingle soul, from that soul He created its mate, and through themHe spread countless men and women. Fear Allah, the One in whosename you demand your rights from one another and the ties ofrelationship; surely Allah is watching you very closely.
The only duty of the Rasool is to pass on My Message. Allah knowsall what you reveal and what you conceal.
as well as the residents of Madyan had denied their Prophets, likewise Musa (Moses) was also denied. Initially, I gave respiteto all those unbelievers and then I seized them: see how terriblewas My disapproval!
So did Thamud, the people of Lut and those of Aiykah (the peopleof Median) - all divided themselves into factions;
all charged their Rasools as liars, so just was my torment ofannihilating them.
Just think, how can you turn away from belief on theirstatements, when Allah's revelations are being recited to you andAllah's Rasool is among you? Whoever holds fast to Allah, willindeed be guided towards the Right Way.

Then on the Day of Judgment He will humiliate them and say:"Where are those deities you associated with Me concerning whomyou used to dispute with the true believers?" Those who have beengiven knowledge will say: "Today there will be shame and sorrowfor the unbelievers,"
- those whom the angels cause to die while they were stillengaged in doing injustice to their own souls. At the time ofdeath they offer submission, saying: "We were not doing anythingwrong." The angels will reply: "O Yea! How dare you deny!Certainly Allah is aware of what you were doing.
Now go ahead and enter the gates of Hell, there you will abideforever." In fact, very awful will be the abode of the arrogant.
Surely those who are unbelievers and die while they areunbelievers, they are the ones on whom is the curse of Allah, theangels and all mankind,
they will live in it forever; neither their punishment shall belightened nor shall they be given respite.
As to those who are unbelievers and die while they wereunbelievers, if they were to fill the whole earth with gold andoffer as a ransom for each one of them, that will not beaccepted. These are the ones who shall have the painfulpunishment, and shall have no helpers.
There is no repentance for those who persist in their evil deedsuntil death approaches anyone of them and he says: "surely now Irepent." Similarly, there is no repentance for those who diewhile they were still unbelievers; for them We have prepared apainful punishment.
Those who disbelieve and obstruct the Way of Allah and die whilethey were still disbelievers, Allah will never forgive them.
- such pious people the angels cause to die, saying: "Peace beupon you! Enter the paradise because of the good deeds you havedone."
He who emigrates in the path of Allah shall find numerous placesof refuge in the Earth and abundant resources. He who leaves hishome to migrate for Allah and His Rasool and dies on the way, hisreward becomes due and sure with Allah. Allah is Forgiving,Merciful.
When the angels of death cause those people to die who havewronged their souls, they ask: "What was your condition?" Theyreply: "We were oppressed in the earth." The angels say: "Was notthe earth of Allah spacious enough for you to emigrate and gosomewhere else?" Hell will be their abode and it is a very evilrefuge!
However, those helpless men, women and children who have neitherthe means to migrate nor strength to escape,
Allah may pardon them. Allah is the Pardoning, Forgiving.
