Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) commanded Bilal that he should place his fingers in his ears and said: It makes the voice louder.

Allah's Apostle forbade 'Uthman bin Maz'un to abstain from marrying (and other pleasures) and if he had allowed him, we would have gotten ourselves castrated.
The Prophet prevented 'Uthman bin Mazun from that (not marrying), and had he allowed him, we would have got ourselves castrated.
We went out with the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) fromMecca making for Medina. When we were near Azwara', he alighted,then raised his hands, and made supplication to Allah for a time,after which he prostrated himself, remaining a long time inprostration. Then he stood up and raised his hands for a time,after which he prostrated himself, remaining a long time inprostration. He then stood up and raised his hands for a time,after which he prostrated himself. Ahmad mentioned it threetimes. He then said: I begged my Lord and made intercession formy people, and He gave me a third of my people, so I prostratedmyself in gratitude to my Lord. Then I raised my head and beggedmy Lord for my people, and He gave me a third of my people, so Iprostrated myself in gratitude to my Lord. Then I raised my headand begged my Lord for my people and He gave me the remainingthird, so I prostrated myself in gratitude to my Lord.
Sulayman ibn AbuAbdullah said: I saw Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas seized aman hunting in the sacred territory of Medina which the Apostleof Allah (peace be upon him) had declared to be sacred. He tookaway his clothes from him. His patrons came to him and spoke tohim about it, but he replied: The Apostle of Allah (peace be uponhim) declared this territory to be sacred, saying: If anyonecatches someone hunting in it he should take away from him hisclothes. So I shall not return to you a provision which theApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) has given me, but if youwish I shall pay you its price.
When the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him0 undertook hisjourney by the way of al-Far', he shouted talbiyah when his mountstood up with him on its back. But when he travelled by the wayof Uhud, he raised his voice in Talbiyah when he ascended thehill of al-Bayda'.
Once Sa'd, with the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him), visiteda woman in front of whom were some date-stones or pebbles whichshe was using as a rosary to glorify Allah. He (the Prophet)said: I tell you something which would be easier (or moreexcellent) for you than that. He said (it consisted of saying):"Glory be to Allah" as many times as the number of that which Hehas created in Heaven; "Glory be to Allah" as many times as thenumber of that which He has created on Earth; "Glory be to Allah"as many times as the number of that which He has created betweenthem; "Glory be to Allah" as many times as the number of thatwhich He is creating; "Allah is most great" a similar number oftimes; "Praise (be to Allah)" a similar number of times; and"There is no god but Allah" a similar number of times; "There isno might and no power except in Allah" a similar number of times.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by me while I wassupplicating by pointing with two fingers of mine. He said: Pointwith one finger; point with one finger. He then himself pointedwith the forefinger.
Ibn Sa'd said: My father (Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas) heard me say: OAllah, I ask Thee for Paradise, its blessings, its pleasure andsuch-and-such, and such-and-such; I seek refuge in Thee fromHell, from its chains, from its collars, and from such-and-such,and from such-and-such. He said: I heard the Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) say: There will be people who will exaggeratein supplication. You should not be one of them. If you aregranted Paradise, you will be granted all what is good therein;if you are protected from Hell, you will be protected from whatis evil therein.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: He who does notchant the Qur'an is not one of us. (Sub-narrator Qutaybah said:This Hadith according to my collection is on the authority ofSa'id ibn AbuSa'id.)
Zayd AbuAyyash asked Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas about the sale of thesoft and white kind of wheat for barley. Sa'd said: Which of themis better? He replied: Soft and white kind of wheat. So heforbade him from it and said: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) say, when he was asked about buying dry dates forfresh. The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Are freshdates diminished when they become dry? The (the people) replied:Yes. So the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade that.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade to sell freshdates for dry dates when payment is made at a later date.
I asked: Apostle of Allah! tell me if someone enters my house andextends his hands to kill me (what should I do?) The Apostle ofAllah (peace be upon him) replied: Be like the two sons of Adam.The narrator Yazid (ibn Khalid) then recited the verse: "If thoudost stretch they hand against me to slay me."
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I hope my community willnot fail to maintain their position in the sight of their Lord ifHe delays them half a day. Sa'd was asked: How long is half aday? He said: It is five hundred years.
On the day of the conquest of Mecca, Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibnAbuSarh hid himself with Uthman ibn Affan. He brought him andmade him stand before the Prophet (peace be upon him), and said:Accept the allegiance of Abdullah, Apostle of Allah! He raisedhis head and looked at him three times, refusing him each time,but accepted his allegiance after the third time. Then turningto his companions, he said: Was not there a wise man among youwho would stand up to him when he saw that I had withheld my handfrom accepting his allegiance, and kill him? They said: We didnot know what you had in your heart, Apostle of Allah! Why didyou not give us a signal with your eye? He said: It is notadvisable for a Prophet to play deceptive tricks with the eyes.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "It is a fine thing when a believer praises and thanks Allah if good comes to him, and praises Allah and shows endurance if smitten by affliction. The believer is rewarded for everything, even for the morsel he raises to his wife's mouth."
Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-Iman.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) visited me when I was ill and asked whether I had made my will. I replied that I had. He asked how much I had willed and when I told him I had willed all my property away to be devoted to Allah's path he asked how much I had left my children. I replied that they were rich and prosperous, whereupon he told me to will away a tenth; but I kept on telling him it was too little till he finally said, "Will away a third, but a third is a lot.

Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib was heard saying: "Allah is Good and likes what is fragrant; he is Clean and likes cleanliness; he is Generous and likes generosity; he is Munificent and likes munificence. So clean (I think he said, your courtyards), and do not imitate the Jews." I mentioned that to Muhajir ibn Mismar and he said he had been told by Amir ibn Sa'd, on his father's authority, that the Prophet had said something similar, but he said, "Cleanse your courtyards."

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "The last hour will not arrive till people come forth who eat with their tongues as cows do."
Ahmad transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If as much of what is in Paradise as could be carried by a fingernail were to appear, the space between the cardinal points of the Heavens and the Earth would be adorned on account of it. If a man of the inhabitants of Paradise were to look down and his bracelets were to appear, his light would obliterate the light of the sun just as the sun obliterates the light of the stars."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a gharib tradition.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said that day, i.e. the day of Uhud, "O Allah, strengthen his shooting and answer his supplication."
It is transmitted in Sharh as-Sunnah.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him and grant him pace) as saying, "O Allah, answer Sa'd when he supplicates Thee."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If anyone sayson hearing the Mu'adhdhin: I testify that there is no god butAllah alone, Who has not partner, and that Muhammad is Hisservant and His Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allahas my Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger, and with Islam as din(code of life), his sins would be forgiven. In the narrationtransmitted by Ibn Rumh the words are: He who said on hearing theMu'adhdhin 'and verify I testify.'" Qutaybah has not mentionedhis words: " And I."
Amir ibn sa`d ibn AbuWaqqas told that Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas saidduring his illness of which he died: "Make a niche for me in theside of the grave and set up bricks over me as was done in caseof Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him).
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) struck his handagainst the other and (then with the gesture of his two hands)said: The month is thus, thus (two times). He then withdrew (oneof) his fingers at the third turn.
Ghunaym ibn Qays said: I asked Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas (Allah bepleased with him) about Mut'ah, whereupon he said: We did that,and it was the day when he was an unbeliever living in (one ofthe) houses of Mecca.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: I have declaredsacred the territory between the two lava plains of Medina, soits trees should not be cut down, or its game killed; and he alsosaid: Medina is best for them if they knew. No one leaves itthrough dislike of it without Allah putting in it someone betterthan he in place of him; and no one will stay there in spite ofits hardships and distress without my being an intercessor orwitness on him on the Day of Resurrection.
Sa'd rode to his castle in al-Aqiq and found a slave cutting downthe trees, or beating off their leaves, so he stripped him offhis belongings. When Sa'd returned, there came to him the mastersof the slave and negotiated with him asking him to return totheir slave or to them what he had taken from their slave,whereupon he said: God forbid that I should return anything whichAllah's Messenger (peace be upon him) has given me as spoil, andrefused to return anything to them.
Mus'ab ibn Sa'd said: My father took a sword from Khums andbrought it to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: Grant itto me. He refused. At this Allah revealed (the Qur'anic verse):"They ask thee concerning the spoils of war. Say: The spoils ofwar are for Allah and the Apostle" (viii.1).
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The people ofthe West will continue to triumphantly follow the truth until theHour is established.
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) commanded the killing ofgeckos, and he called them little noxious creatures.
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: It is better for thebelly of any one of you to be stuffed with pus rather than tostuff (one's mind) with poetry.
This verse was revealed in relation to six persons and I and IbnMas'ud were amongst them. The polytheists said to him (theProphet): Do not keep such persons near you. It was upon thisthat (this verse was revealed): "Drive not away those who callupon their Lord morning and evening desiring only His pleasure"
Sa'd had been in the company of Allah's apostle (peace be uponhim) and he said: Is one amongst you powerless to get onethousand virtues every day. Amongst those who had been sittingthere, one asked: How one amongst us can get one thousand virtuesevery day? He said: Say "Hallowed be Allah" one hundred times for(by reciting them) one thousand virtues are recorded (to yourcredit) and one thousand vices are blotted out.
One day Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) came from a highland. He passed by the mosque of Banu Mu'awiyah, went in andobserved two rak'ahs there and we also observed prayer along withhim and he made a long supplication to his Lord. He then came tous and said: I asked my Lord three things and He has granted metwo but has withheld one. I begged my Lord that my Ummah shouldnot be destroyed because of famine and He granted me this. And Ibegged my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed by drowning(by deluge) and He granted me this. And I begged my Lord thatthere should be no bloodshed among the people of my Ummah, but Hedid not grant it.
Sa'd was in the fold of his camels and his son Umar came to him.When Sa'd saw him he said: I seek refuge with Allah from themischief of this rider. And as he got down he said to him: Youare busy with your camels and your sheep and you have abandonedpeople who are contending with one another for kingdom. Sa'dstruck his chest and said: Keep quite. I heard Allah's Apostle(peace be upon him) said: Allah loves the servant who isGod-conscious and is free from want and is hidden (from the viewof people).
A person came to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and said:I do azl with my wife. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (peace be uponhim) said: Why do you do that? The person said: I fear harm toher child or her children. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (peace beupon him) said: If that were harmful it would harm the Persiansand the Greeks.
Ziyad ibn Sa'd ibn Dumayrah as-Sulami said on the authority ofhis father (Sa'd) and his grandfather (Dumayrah) (according toMusa's version) who were present in the battle of Hunayn with theApostle of Allah (peace be upon him): After the advent of Islam,Muhallam ibn Jaththamah al-Laythi killed a man of Ashja'. Thatwas the first blood-money decided by the Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) (for payment). Uyaynah spoke about the killing ofal-Ashja'i, for he belonged to Ghatafan, and al-Aqra' ibn Habisspoke on behalf of Muhallam, for he belonged to Khunduf. Thevoices rose high, and the dispute and noise grew. So the Apostleof Allah (peace be upon him) said: Do you not accept blood-money,Uyaynah? Uyaynah then said: No, I swear by Allah, until I causehis women to suffer the same fighting and grief as he caused mywomen to suffer. Again the voices rose high, and the dispute andnoise grew. The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Doyou not accept the blood-money Uyaynah? Uyaynah gave the samereply as before, and a man of Banu Layth called Mukaytil stoodup. He had a weapon and a skin shield in his hand. He said: I donot find in the beginning of Islam any illustration for what hehas done except the one that "some sheep came on, and those inthe front were shot; hence those in the rear ran away". (Theother example is that) "make a law today and change it." TheApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Fifty (camels) hereimmediately and fifty when we return to Medina. This happenedduring some of his journeys. Muhallam was a tall man of darkcomplexion. He was with the people. They continued (to makeeffort for him) until he was released. He sat before the Apostleof Allah (peace be upon him), with his eyes flowing. He said:Apostle of Allah! I have done (the act) of which you have beeninformed. I repent to Allah, the Exalted, so ask Allah'sforgiveness for me. Apostle of Allah! The Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) then said: Did you kill him with your weaponat the beginning of Islam. O Allah! do not forgive Muhallam. Hesaid these words loudly. AbuSalamah added: He (Muhallam) thengot up while he was wiping his tears with the end of his garment. Ibn Ishaq said: His people alleged that the Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) asked forgiveness for him after that.
Sa'd ibn Hisham ibn Amir decided to participate in the expeditionfor the sake of Allah, so he came to Medina. He decided todispose of his property there and buy arms and horses instead inorder to fight against the Romans to the end of his life. When hecame to Medina he met the people of Medina. They dissuaded himfrom doing such a thing, and informed him that a group of six menhad decided to do so during the lifetime of the Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) and the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him)forbade them to do it.He had said: Is there not for you a modelpattern in me? When they narrated this to him (Sa'd ibn Hisham),he returned to his wife, though he had divorced her and made(people) witness to his reconciliation. He then came to Ibn Abbasand asked him about the Witr of the Messenger of Allah (peace beupon him). Ibn Abbas said: Should I not lead you to one whoknows best amongst the people of the world about the Witr of theMessenger of Allah? He said: Who is it? (Ibn Abbas) said: It isAisha. So go to her and ask her (about Witr) and then come to meand inform me of the answer that she gives you. So I came toHakim ibn Aflah and requested him to take me to her. He said: Ishall not go to her, for I forbade her to say anything (about theconflict) between the two groups, but she refused (to accept myadvice) and went (to participate in the conflict). I (requested)him (Hakim) with an oath to lead me to her. So we went to Aishaand we begged permission to meet her. She granted us permissionand we went in. She said: Are you Hakim? (She recognized him.) He replied: Yes. She said: Who is there with you? He said: Heis Sa'd ibn Hisham. She said: Which Hisham? He said: He isHisham ibn Amir. She blessed him (Amir) with mercy from Allah andspoke good of him (Qatadah said that he died as a martyr inUhud). I said: Mother of the Faithful, tell me about thecharacter of the Messenger of Allah. She said: Don't you readthe Qur'an? I said: Yes. Upon this she said: The character ofthe Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) was the Qur'an. He said:I felt inclined to stand up and not ask anything (further) untildeath. But then I changed my mind and said: Inform me about theobservance (of the night prayer) of the Messenger of Allah (peacebe upon him) She said: Did you not recite: "O thou wrapped up"? He said: Yes. She said: Allah, the Exalted and the Glorious,made the observance of the night prayer at the beginning of thisSurah obligatory. So the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) andhis companions around him observed this (night prayer) for oneyear. Allah held back the concluding portion of this Surah fortwelve months in Heaven until (at the end of this period) Allahrevealed the concluding verses of this Surah, which lightened(the burden of this prayer), and the night prayer became asupererogatory prayer after being an obligatory one. I said:Mother of the Faithful, inform me about the Witr of the Messengerof Allah (peace be upon him). She said: I used to prepare atooth-stick for him and water for his ablution, and Allah wouldrouse him to the extent He wished during the night. He would usethe tooth stick, perform ablution, and would offer nine rak'ahs.He would only sit for the eighth one and would remember Allah,praise Him and supplicate Him, then he would stand up withoututtering the salutation and pray the ninth rak'ah. He would thensit, remember Him, praise Him and supplicate Him and then utter asalutation loud enough for us to hear. He would then pray tworak'ahs sitting after uttering the salutation, and that madeeleven rak'ahs. However, my son, when the Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) grew old and put on flesh, he observed a Witrof seven, doing in two rak'ahs as he had done formerly, and thatmade nine. O my son, when the Apostle of Allah (peace be uponhim) observed prayer, he liked to continue observing it, and whensleep or pain overpowered him and made it impossible (for him) toobserve prayer at night, he prayed twelve rak'ahs during the day.I am not aware of Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) havingrecited the whole Qur'an during one single night, or prayingthrough the night till morning, or fasting a complete month,except Ramadan. He (narrator) said: I then went to Ibn Abbas andnarrated to him the hadith (transmitted from her), and he said:She says the truth. If I went to her and were admitted into herpresence, I should have listened to it orally from her. He said:If I had known that you did not go to her, I should not havetransmitted this hadith to you, narrated by her.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no hamah, noinfection and no evil omen; if there is in anything an evil omen,it is a house, a horse, and a woman.
One of the Ansar went to the Prophet and asked him to tell him about the good contained in Friday. He replied, "It has five distinguishing characteristics...." and he carried on to the end of the tradition as in No. 1363.

Sa'd asked: Apostle of Allah, Umm Sa'd has died; what form ofsadaqah is best? He replied: Water (is best). He dug a well andsaid: It is for Umm Sa'd.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: No man recites the Qur'an,then forgets it, but will meet Allah on the Day of Judgment in amaimed condition (or empty-handed, or with no excuse).
Sa'id ibn Sa'd ibn Ubadah told that Sa'd ibn Ubadah brought the Prophet a sick man deficient in build, a member of the clan, who had been found in the act of having illicit intercourse with a slave woman of theirs. The Prophet said, "bring for him a stalk of the raceme of a palm-tree with a hundred twigs and strike him once."
It is transmitted in Sharh as-Sunnah; and there is something similar in Ibn Majah's version.
My brother died leaving three hundred dinars and some young children, and I wanted to use them for their maintenance, but Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said to me, "Your brother is imprisoned by his debt, so pay it on his behalf." I went and did so, and returned to tell Allah's Messenger that I had done it and that there remained only a woman who claimed two dinars but had no proof she could show. He replied, "Give them to her, for she is speaking the truth."

and the narrator Musa said: As far as Amr thinks, the Prophet(peace be upon him) said: The whole earth is a place of prayerexcept public baths and graveyards.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) saw a person prayingalone. He said: Is there any man who may do good with this (man)and pray along with him.
I said to Ibn 'Umar, "If a man accuses his wife of illegal sexual intercourse (what is the judgment)?" He said, "Allah's Prophet separated the couple of Bani 'Ajlan (when the husband accused his wife for an illegal sexual intercourse). The Prophet said, 'Allah knows that one of you two is a liar; so will one of you repent?' But they refused. He then again said, 'Allah knows that one of you two is a liar; so will one of you repent?' But they refused, whereupon he separated them by divorce." Aiyub (a sub-narrator) said: 'Amr bin Dinar said to me, "In the narration there is something which I do not see you mentioning, i.e. the husband said, 'What about my money (Mahr)?' The Prophet said, 'You are not entitled to take back money, for if you told the truth you have already entered upon her (and consummated your marriage with her) and if you are a liar then you are less entitled to take it back.' "
The pommel of the sword of the Apostle of Allah (peace be uponhim) was of silver.
Sa'id told of hearing Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say, "If any of you sells a house or real estate it is right that he should not have a blessing unless he spends what he receives on something similar."
Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: on the day of the conquestof Mecca: There are four persons whom I shall not give protectionin the sacred and non-sacred territory. He then named them. Therewere two singing girls of al-Maqis; one of them was killed andthe other escaped and embraced Islam.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If anyone brings barrenland into cultivation, it belongs to him, and the unjust vein hasno right.
We were with the Prophet (peace be upon him). He mentioned civilstrife (fitnah) and expressed its gravity. We or the people said:Apostle of Allah, if this happens to us it will destroy us. TheApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said; No. It is enough foryou that you would be killed. Sa'id said: I saw that my brethrenwere killed.
AbdurRahman ibn al-Akhnas said that when he was in the mosque, aman mentioned Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). So Sa'id ibnZayd got up and said: I bear witness to the Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) that I heard him say: Ten persons will go toParadise: The Prophet (peace be upon him) will go to Paradise,AbuBakr will go to Paradise, Umar will go to Paradise, Uthmanwill go to Paradise, Ali will go to Paradise, Talhah will go toParadise: az-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam will go to paradise, Sa'd ibnMalik will go to Paradise, and AbdurRahman ibn Awf will go toParadise. If I wish, I can mention the tenth. The People asked:Who is he: So he kept silence. The again asked: Who is he: Hereplied: He is Sa'id ibn Zayd.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who is killed whileprotecting his property is a martyr, and he who is killed whiledefending his family, or his blood, or his religion is a martyr.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The most prevalent kind ofusury is going to lengths in talking unjustly against a Muslim'shonour.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, No ablution (is perfect) for which (while performing) the name of Allah is not mentioned.

Abdullah ibn Zalim al-Mazini said: I heard Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn Amribn Nufayl say: When so and so came to Kufah, and made so and sostand to address the people, Sa'id ibn Zayd caught hold of myhand and said: Are you seeing this tyrant? I bear witness to thenine people that they will go to Paradise. If I testify to thetenth too, I shall not be sinful. I asked: Who are the nine? Hesaid: The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said when he wason Hira': Be still, Hira', for only a Prophet, or anever-truthful, or a martyr is on you. I asked: Who are thosenine? He said: The Apostle of Allah, AbuBakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali,Talhah, az-Zubayr, Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas and AbdurRahman ibn Awf.Iasked: Who is the tenth? He paused a moment and said: it is I.
Rabah ibn al-Harith said: I was sitting with someone in themosque of Kufah while the people of Kufah were with him. ThenSa'id ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl came and he welcomed him,greeted him, and seated him near his foot on the throne. Then aman of the inhabitants of Kufah, called Qays ibn Alqamah, came.He received him and began to abuse him. Sa'id asked: Whom isthis man abusing? He replied: He is abusing Ali. He said: Don'tI see that the companions of the Apostle of Allah (peace be uponhim) are being abused, but you neither stop it nor do anythingabout it? I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him)say--and I need not say for him anything which he did not say,and then he would ask me tomorrow when I see him --AbuBakr willgo to Paradise and Umar will go to Paradise. He then mentionedthe rest of the tradition to the same effect (as in No. 4632). He then said: The company of one of their man whose face has beencovered with dust by the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) isbetter than the actions of one of you for a whole life time evenif he is granted the life-span of Noah.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) sent AbuSa'id ibn al-'Aswith an expedition from Medina towards Najd. Aban ibn Sa'id andhis companions came to the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him)at Khaybar after it had been captured. The girths of their horseswere made of palm fibres. Aban said: Give us a share (from thebooty), Apostle of Allah. AbuHurayrah said: I said: Do not givethem a share, Apostle of Allah. Aban said: Why are you talkingso, Wabr. You have come to us from the peak of Dal. The Prophet(peace be upon him) said: Sit down, Aban. The Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) did not give any share to them (from thebooty).
A man from the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) cameto Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He borewitness before him that when he (the Prophet) was suffering froma disease of which he died he heard the Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) prohibiting performing of umrah before hajj.
While the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) was sitting withsome of his companions, a man reviled AbuBakr and insulted him.But AbuBakr remained silent. He insulted him twice, but AbuBakrcontrolled himself. He insulted him thrice and AbuBakr tookrevenge on him. Then the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) gotup when AbuBakr took revenge. AbuBakr said: Were you angry withme, Apostle of Allah? The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him)replied: An angel came down from Heaven and he was rejecting whathe had said to you. When you took revenge, a devil came down. Iwas not going to sit when the devil came down.
