This version (of Hadith No 856) adds: The Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) said: The prayer of any of you is not complete untilhe performs ablution perfectly, as Allah, the Exalted, hasordered you. He should wash his face and hands up to the elbows,and wipe his head and (wash) his feet up to the ankles. Then heshould exalt Allah and praise Him. Then he should recite theQur'an as much as it is convenient for him. (Narrator thennarrated the tradition like Hammad's, No. 856). He said: He thenutter the takbir and prostration himself so that his face is atrest. Hammam (sub-narrator) said: Sometimes he reported: So thathis forehead is at rest on the ground, and his joints return totheir places and are loosened. Then he should say the takbir andthen sit right on his hips and erect his back. He described thenature of prayer in this way by offering four rak'ahs until hefinished it. The prayer of any of you is not complete unless hedoes so.
A man entered the mosque...... He then narrated the traditionlike the one narrated in (No.855). This version is as follows:The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The prayer of anyone is notperfect unless he performs ablution perfectly; he should thenutter the takbir, and praise Allah, the Exalted, and admire Him;he should then recite the Qur'an as much as he desires. He shouldthen say: "Allah is Most Great". Next he should bow so that allhis joints return to their proper places. Then he should say:"Allah listens to the one who praises Him", and stand erect. Heshould then say:"Allah is most great," and should prostratehimself so that all his joints are completely at rest. Then heshould say: "Allah is most great"; he should raise his head (atthe end of prostration) till he sits erect. Then he should say:"Allah is most great"; then he should prostrate himself till allhis joints return to their proper places. Then he should raisehis head and say the takbir. When he does so, then his prayer iscompleted.
I offered prayer behind the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him).Rifa'ah sneezed. The narrator Qutaybah did not mention the nameRifa'ah (but he said: I sneezed). So I said: Praise be to Allah,praise much, good and blessed therein, blessed thereupon, as ourLord likes and is pleased. When the Apostle of Allah (peace beupon him) finished his prayer, he turned and said: Who was thespeaker in prayer? He then narrated the rest of the traditionlike that of Malik and completed it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The merchants will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as evildoers, except those who fear Allah, are honest and speak the truth."
Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it, and Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-Iman on the authority of al-Bara'. Tirmidhi said this is a hasan sahih tradition.
(who was one of the Badr warriors) Gabriel came to the Prophet and said, "How do you look upon the warriors of Badr among yourselves?" The Prophet said, "As the best of the Muslims," or said a similar Statement. On that, Gabriel said, "And so are the Angels who participated in the Badr (battle)."
One day we were praying behind the Prophet. When he raised his head from bowing, he said, "Sami'a-l-lahu Liman hamida." A man behind him said, "Rabbana walaka-l hamd hamdan Kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi" (O our Lord! All the praises are for You, many good and blessed praises). When the Prophet completed the prayer, he asked, "Who has said these words?" The man replied, "I." The Prophet said, "I saw over thirty angels competing to write it first." Prophet rose (from bowing) and stood straight till all the vertebrae of his spinal column came to a natural position.
We used to go for military expeditions along with Allah's Apostle and provide the people with water, serve them and bring the dead and the wounded back to Medina.
The Prophet said, "The difference between us and the polytheists is that we wear turbans over caps."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a gharib tradition whose isnad is not reliable.
(Rukanah) divorced his wife absolutely; so he came to the Apostleof Allah (peace be upon him). He asked (him): What did youintend? He said: A single utterance of divorce. He said: Do youswear by Allah? He replied: I swear by Allah. He said: It standsas you intended.
I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: He whoobserved prayer before the rising of the sun and its setting.i.e. the dawn prayer and the afternoon prayer, would not enterthe (Hell) fire. A person belonging to Basrah said to him(Ruwaybah): Did you yourself hear it from the Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) ? He said: Yes. The person (from Basrah)said: I bear witness that I heard it from the Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) my ears heard it and my heart retained it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: He who invokes blessings upon Muhammad saying: O Allah, cause him to occupy the nearest seat to Thee on the Day of Resurrection, my intercession will be assured for him.

Shayban al-Qatbani reported that Maslamah ibn Mukhallad madeRuwayfi' ibn Thabit the governor of the lower parts (of Egypt).He added: We travelled with him from Kum Sharik to Alqamah orfrom Alqamah to Kum Sharik (the narrator doubts) for Alqam.Ruwayfi' said: Any one of us would borrow a camel during thelifetime of the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the other, oncondition that he would give him half the booty, and the otherhalf he would retain himself. Further, one of us received anarrowhead and a feather, and the other an arrow-shaft as a sharefrom the booty. He then reported: The Apostle of Allah (peace beupon him) said: You may live for a long time after I am gone,Ruwayfi', so, tell people that if anyone ties his beard or wearsround his neck a string to ward off the evil eye, or cleanseshimself with animal dung or bone, Muhammad has nothing to do withhim.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who believes in Allahand the Last Day must not ride on packhorse belonging to thebooty of the Muslims and put it back when he has emaciated it;and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day must not wear agarment belonging to the booty of the Muslims and put it backwhen he made it threadbare.
Should I tell you what I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace beupon him) say on the day of Hunayn: It is not lawful for a manwho believes in Allah and the last day to water what another hassown with his water (meaning intercourse with women who arepregnant); it is not lawful for a man who believes in Allah andthe Last Day to have intercourse with a captive woman till she isfree from a menstrual course; and it is not lawful for a man whobelieves in Allah and the Last Day to sell spoil till it isdivided.
