I asked Anas, "Tell me about the name 'Al-Ansar. Did you call yourselves by it or did Allah call you by it?" He said, "Allah called us by it." We used to visit Anas (at Basra) and he used to narrate to us the virtues and deeds of the Ansar, and he used to address me or a person from the tribe of Al-Azd and say, "Your tribe did so-and-so on such-and-such a day."
We used to visit Anas bin Malik and he used to talk to us about the Ansar, and used to say to me: "Your people did so-and-so on such-and-such a day, and your people did so-and-so on such-and-such a day."
Ghalib quoted a man who stated on the authority of his fatherthat his grandfather reported: They lived at one of the springs.When Islam reached them, the master of the spring offered hispeople one hundred camels if they embraced Islam. So theyembraced Islam, and he distributed the camels among them. But itoccurred to him that he should take the camels back from them. He sent his son to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said tohim: Go to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and tell him: Myfather extends his greetings to you. He asked his people to givethem one hundred camels if they embraced Islam, and they embracedIslam. He divided the camels among them. But it occurred to himthen that he should withdraw his camels from them. Is he moreentitled to them or we? If he says: Yes or no, then tell him: Myfather is an old man, and he is the chief of the people living atthe water. He has requested you to make me chief after him. Hecame to him and said: My father has extended his greetings toyou. He replied: On you and you father be peace. He said: Myfather asked his people to give them one hundred camels if theyembraced Islam. So they embraced Islam, and their belief in Islamis good. Then it occurred to him that he should take his camelsback from them. Is he more entitled to them or are they? Hesaid: If he likes to give them the camels, he may give them; andif he likes to take them back, he is more entitled to them thanhis people. If they embraced Islam, then for them is their Islam.If they do not embrace Islam, they will be fought against in thecause of Islam. He said: My father is an old man; he is thechief of the people living at the spring. He has asked you toappoint me chief after him. He replied: The office of a chief isnecessary, for people must have chiefs, but the chiefs will go toHell.
We faced a famine, and I had nothing from my property which Icould feed my family ex except a few asses, and the Prophet(peace be upon him) forbade the flesh of domestic asses. So Icame to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: Apostle ofAllah (may peace be upon) , we are suffering from famine, and Ihave no property which I feed my family except some fat asses,and you have forbidden the flesh of domestic asses. He said: Feedyour family on the fat asses of yours, for I forbade them onaccount of the animal which feeds on the filth of the town, thatis, the animal which feeds on filth.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Never did a people make an innovation (in religion) there was withdrawn from them the equal measure of Sunnah. Adhering to Sunnah is better than making innovations.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Sneezing, drowsing, yawning in prayer, also menstruation, vomiting and nose-bleeding are from (the acts of) Satan.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said about the woman having aprolonged flow of blood: She should abandon prayer during hermenstrual period: then she should take a bath and pray. Sheshould perform ablution for every prayer.
I brought my debtor to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). Hesaid to me: Stick to him. He again said to me: O brother of BanuTamim, what do you want to do with your prisoner.
I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he wasperforming ablution, and the water was running down his face andbeard to his chest. I saw him rinsing his mouth and snuffing upwater separately.
