Surah 9. At-Tauba, Ayah 82
| فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
| Asad | : | Let them, then, laugh a little - for they will weep a lot113 in return for what they have earned. |
| Malik | : | Let them laugh a little; much will they weep as a recompense for what they have earned. |
| Pickthall | : | Then let them laugh a little: they will weep much, as the award of what they used to earn. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | Let them laugh a little: much will they weep: a recompense for the (evil) that they do. 1336 |
| Transliteration | : | Falyadhakoo qaleelan walyabkoo katheeran jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboona |
Note - 113Lit., "and let them weep a lot".

Note - 1336They may sneer or ridicule or rejoice now: that will be
only for a little: much will they have to weep for
afterwards.
