Surah 7. Al-A'raf, Ayah 191
| أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ |
| Asad | : | Will they, then, ascribe divinity, side by side with Him, unto beings that cannot create anything157 - since they themselves are created - |
| Malik | : | Do they associate with Him those deities who can create nothing but are themselves created, |
| Pickthall | : | Attribute they as partners to Allah those who created naught, but are themselves created, |
| Yusuf Ali | : | Do they indeed ascribe to Him as partners things that can create nothing but are themselves created? |
| Transliteration | : | Ayushrikoona ma la yakhluqu shayan wahum yukhlaqoona |
Note - 157Lit., "that which does not create anything": a phrase
expressed in the singular, but having the plural meaning
of "beings" - that is, either animate beings (like saints
or supposedly "divine" personalities) or their inanimate
representations.
