Surah 23. Al-Muminun, Ayah 47



فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ


Asad : And so they said: "Shall we believe [them-] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?"
Malik : They said: "What! Should we believe in two human beings like ourselves, and whose people are our slaves?"
Pickthall : And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us?
Yusuf Ali : They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" 2904
Transliteration : Faqaloo anuminu libasharayni mithlina waqawmuhuma lana AAabidoona

Yusuf Ali 2904 Racial arrogance made the Egyptians say, 'These men belong to a race which we hold in subjection as our slaves: how can we accept them as messengers of Allah?'
